I was looking at the Dolce & Gabbana media. One of the photos featured a shopper in the foreground and Adam Senn in the background. Months ago, I edited the Senn article so I knew that it did not include a photo of him. I thought the Senn article would be enhanced by a photo of him and added the one from Dolce & Gabbana's media page.

It was my understanding that images in WikiCommmons had been approved for use in wiki articles. This photo was originally uploaded to WikiCommons in 2007. It would be a shame for a long-approved image to be deleted if/because I used it incorrectly.LauraLeeT (talk) 22:30, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is true that the image came to my attention because you put it in a single image gallery which I then deleted (single image galleries are against policy and may be deleted on sight.) However, it is incorrect to characterize the image as "long approved", as until now it has been neither approved nor disapproved. While losing an image is never good, finding and deleting copyright violations is important to our goal of having only freely licensed images on Commons.
